Job Description

Launched in 2012 Koding a fastgrowing startup (with over a million users) is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead engineering efforts.

We are looking for a solid technical leader to shape the future of the Koding platform and manage/mentor the engineering team. The position is based in San Francisco CA and reports to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will provide technical strategic and operational leadership to the engineering team. He/she needs to be a handson leader with a passion for building compelling technology platforms. We require a proven ability to grow and lead a team of talented engineers through design development testing and launch of highly scalable and complex systems. This position will require you to be responsible for strategy roadmaps processes implementation and production support. In short you will not only create the strategy to evolve the technology of our platform you will also ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in .

Koding is a developerfocused startup based in San Franciscos SOMA district. Our core product is: Development Environments as a Service. We offer feature rich cloudbased development environments that are complete with free VMs an attractive code editor & sudo level terminal all in a browser.

Koding provides all you need to move your software development completely to the cloud. You will be up and running in minutes on your own cloudbased Linux boxes where you can learn programming languages like Ruby Go Java NodeJS PHP C C Perl Pythonthe list goes on! You can experiment with installing/configuring/hacking Wordpress Laravel Django Bootstrap and a slew of others or fire up a MySQL Mongo Postgres server with the click of a button. Our collaboration features allow you to pairprogram with your friends and colleagues using audiovideo and real time sharing of the entire development workspace.
