JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Research & Best Practice Implementation (BPI) team the Research & Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration coordination and operation of Praxis supported clinical research projects in the Cure & Care Programs. Reporting to the Associate Director Cure & Care Programs the Coordinator will work closely with the Research & BPI team the Data Services team the Accountability & Evaluation team the Persons with Lived Experience (PLEX) team and the Finance team.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform researchrelated activities including ethics submission literature search and synthesis and preparing research documents (protocols scientific abstracts conference presentations);
- Provide support in manuscript preparation and submission including proofreading and formatting manuscripts and reports maintaining referencing software etc.;
- Lead the finance operating procedure for the Cure and Care Programs finances including budgeting monitoring forecasting and processing expenses;
- Support project teams with event planning including workback schedule cost projections and liaising with vendors and travel agents;
- Support with the grant administration process including development of request for applications and completion of documents as per SOP as well as process grant payments facilitate grant review meetings circulate grant progress reports and record grant deliverables;
- Act as the Data Steward to facilitate data access requests processing and tracking applications managing the review process and corresponding with requestors;
- Coordinate third party vendors for projects including defining scope of work and request for proposals coordinating review process drafting contract approval forms and managing deliverables;
- Regularly monitor projects with teams from planning through implementation to ensure timely milestones and deliverables and adherence to budgets as per funding requirements;
- Support teams with meeting coordination including preparing agendas and premeeting materials minute taking postmeeting updates and following up on action items and with other project activities as needed;
- Maintain and update relevant databases to track project deliverables (e.g. publications conference presentations knowledge translation activities);
- Using data from our deliverable databases to prepare program reports and other related materials (e.g. communication plans project updates newsletters etc. to facilitate dissemination;
- Manage digital files and folders system by organizing them in a clear hierarchical folder structure using consistent and concise naming conventions deleting and archiving unnecessary files;
- Perform other duties as required; and this may include travel on behalf of Praxis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- An undergraduate degree in Epidemiology Life Sciences or a related field (Business/Health Administration)
Experience:
- 34 years of experience conducting and/or managing clinical research projects in an environment compliant with current privacy and ethical best practices in the conduct of human research
- Experience with research administration and operation
- Experience working with multicentre projects researchers and clinicians and with individuals living with various health conditions
- Demonstrated success in working with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Skills/Behaviours:
- Welldeveloped project coordination skills
- Ability to maintain accuracy and superior attention to detail
- Strong organizational and filing skills
- Intermediate to advance level of competency skills with MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to compose clear concise correspondence and presentations
- Ability to interpret guidelines policies procedures and regulations
- Ability to analyze problems identify key information and issues and effectively resolve them
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload achieving results within acceptable timeframes taking into consideration changing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Experience with project management software considered an asset
- Familiarity with research in SCI or other health conditions an asset
An equivalent combination of education experience and skills/behaviors will be considered
