UCC Environmental is a privately held familyowned company founded in 1920 that focuses on mission critical solutions associated with air water and solids. Traditional business focuses on design supply and service for material handling systems for coal combustion residuals (fly ash bottom ash mill rejects etc. the byproduct of electricity and steam power production plants. Additional business activity includes design supply installation and commissioning rental equipment and fullscale demonstrations injecting sorbents directly into flue gas ducts to remove pollutants in the air. Newer activity includes the design supply installation & commissioning and operations & maintenance of various types of wastewater treatment solutions including outage wash low volume flue gas desulphurization and pond closure applications. Customengineered designs are based on customer specifications laboratory test data industry best practices and UCC Environmental design standards that have been proven by experience which has made them the North American industry leader and a globally renowned environmental and material handling solutions provider.
The UCC Environmental corporate headquarters are based in Waukegan IL approximately 25 miles north of Chicago. In addition the Company has manufacturing/assembly/warehousing facility in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin and additional warehousing locations in Germany and China. Global engineering offices are located in Waukegan Moers Germany and Pune India. Global supply chain functions are managed in Waukegan Moers and Pune with additional purchasing and quality control personnel permanently based in Shanghai. International Sales offices are located in Moers and Pune.
PRINCIPAL FOCUS OF THE POSITION
The focus of the position will be to leverage water management and wastewater treatment (WWT) operational experience and environmental compliance experience to develop and implement short to midrange business objectives and strategic sales plans in coordination with the UCC Environmental Sales and Marketing Management Teams. The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Territory District Manager. At present the position does not have any supervisory responsibilities though this may change over time. The Regional Sales Manager shall work closely with Current and Prospective Clients Internal Sales and Engineering Departments. Frequent travel to Customer sites is expected. Visits to the UCC Environmental Office in Waukegan could be required on an asneeded basis.
Primary responsibilities will include technically and strategically directing the territory for all water sales initiatives as associated with being compliant to local governing authority discharge limits meeting US EPA requirements and any other potential need an end user may have that would require new water systems. The role will also include training and development customer relationship development/ management opportunity identification proposal development technical sales presentations and postbid negotiations for systems sales.
The Regional Sales Manager will:
Demonstrate UCC Environmental core values.
Develop monthly quarterly and annual sales strategy and tactical plans for Water Management and WWT sales for the domestic Utility coalfired power plant market with particular emphasis on CCR/ELG compliance initiatives; as well as other heavy industrial markets that includes but is not limited to Mining Cement Pulp & Paper Chemical etc.
Achieve annual sales volume targets.
Develop the Annual Business Plan for the territory that includes all water management material handling dry sorbent injection as well as aftermarket parts sales opportunities including anticipated sales outlook.
Build and maintain market expertise through market research and competitive analysis networking with key customers suppliers and partners.
Drive sales strategies and programs to strengthen current and potential market penetration and customer satisfaction.
Proactively work cross functionally with other UCC Environmental support functions to effectively meet sales goals.
Have or able to gain knowledge of EPA rules that are market drivers for water and wastewater treatment opportunities. This includes but is not limited to: Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG) Mine Tailings and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations that may drive the potential customer base to plan for new project activities.
Significant travel is required 100 to 140 customer calls per year are expected
o Customers would include Plant sites Corporate Offices Engineering Firms and other Strategic Partners within the Territory.
All other duties as assigned.
Education:
A Bachelor of Science in engineering (mechanical chemical civil or environmental) is required and a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Professional Registration(s) is also preferred.
Preferred Experience:
At least 1015 years of water management and/or wastewater treatment experience in engineering/technology based in Power Mining and/or Heavy industrial environments
At least 10 years of sales/procurement/contracting experience in engineering/technologybased Power Mining and/or Heavy industrial environments
Technical leadership for complex water treatment systems www.uccenvironmental
o Preferred to have experience with Power Mining and/or Heavy Industrial facilities and has a network of established contacts
Broad experience covering marketing and sales disciplines
Business development experience with success breaking into new markets
A proven track record of growing sales channels and sales revenue
Track record of successfully promoting newly developed technical strategies

Ability to travel and drive to customer sites 34 days per week
Ability to walk around industrial facilities for extended periods of time
Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders

Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range: $95000 to $145000 annual pay based on skills and experience Other Compensation: Incentive pay of 050 based achieving sales targets as outlined in the incentive plan.
