Summary of Job Duties:
**This is a temporary and parttime position and will fill multiple vacancies**The Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) internship will assist in preparing social work interns to be knowledgeable of the professions missions values principles and standards and will seek the wellbeing of the client population in a consistently ethical manner. This position will require collaboration with PRI and other UAMS departments to build and maintain collaborative relationships with community health and social welfare organizations and community groups to promote effective and efficient service delivery and the development of resources to meet the needs of client populations.
2ndyear interns from UALR will have a concentration year at one PRI department within UAMS. Interns will learn all the above criteria for their assigned department and have a clinical caseload to manage by providing services applicable to the assigned department. Duties will include individual group and family therapy; participation in a multidisciplinary treatment team; assistance with treatment plan formulation and other clinicspecific duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in social work or related field required.
Must be enrolled at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock working toward a Masters in Social Work.
Responsibilities:
Indirect and direct services to patients and their families.
Indirect services include patient and family phone calls to assist with the coordination of care.
Direct services include but are not limited to diagnostic assessment individual therapy family therapy group therapy collateral intervention and crisis intervention.
All services provided will be done under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Provider.
Documentation in the clinical record staff meetings and other meetings administrative tasks and training.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
Physical Requrements Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Visual Acuity Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures transcribing viewing a computer terminal extensive reading and/or visual inspection at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions None. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
Frequent Physical Activities Hearing Manipulate items with fingers including keyboarding sitting talking and walking.
Occasional Physical Activities Crouching Kneeling Reaching and Stooping.
