Job Description

Job Posting Summary

The Design and Animation Program at Mercy University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach one section of an introductory 2D design class for the fall semester of 2023. This class is taken by all firstyear students in our B.F.A. program. There is an established syllabus for the course developed by a core faculty member who teaches another section of the class. The program will provide teaching materials including course syllabus and class projects description and evaluation rubrics.

There is an opportunity to teach additional classes for the program in the spring of 2024 and beyond.

Adjunct faculty are not eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate has professional work experience in graphic design illustration or animation using Photoshop Illustrator and After Effects to develop compelling and thoughtful projects as well as prior teaching experience with a portfolio of professional and student work.

Education Requirements:
Masters degree in the discipline or Bachelors degree with equivalent experience is required.

Pay for this position is competitive will regional institutions Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semimonthly pay cycle.

Mercy University promotes a community campus environment. As a result employment is limited to the following states: New York New Jersey Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Applicants outside of those states or the USA will be required to relocate. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible moves.
