Job Summary
The Manager of Marketing & Communications for the College of Science will play a critical role in promoting the colleges programs research and achievements. Reporting to the AVP of Marketing and Brand Strategy until the Academic Program Marketing leader is hired in the Office of Messaging Marketing and Engagement. This position is responsible for ensuring the Colleges visibility reputation and overall brand are amplified both internally and externally. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker with strong leadership skills able to foster collaboration across departments manage highimpact campaigns and lead a team to maintain a strong online presence. This position is based in our Arlington Texas office and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Communications: Develop execute and maintain datadriven marketing and communications strategies for the College of Science. These strategies should align with overall University and Messaging Marketing and Engagement MME priorities ensuring the Colleges objectives are met through tailored efforts. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Academic Program Marketing to integrate Collegespecific strategies with broader academic marketing initiatives ensuring cohesive messaging and strategic alignment with University goals. Oversee the College of Sciences Communications Assistant and Webmaster fostering a highperforming collaborative team that aligns with Messaging Marketing and Engagements (MMEs) goals for academic marketing. Work closely with the Assistant Director of Academic Program Marketing and Messaging Marketing and Engagement MME team to integrate Collegespecific marketing strategies into Universitywide initiatives. Ensure collaboration with other departments within UTA to maintain consistent resultsoriented marketing across the institution. Content Creation & Storytelling: Create and promote compelling narratives from the College of Science focusing on faculty student and alumni accomplishments research breakthroughs and key events. Ensure that content supports broader academic marketing strategies. Work with the Director of Academic Program Marketing and MME team to ensure that content is strategically leveraged across Universitywide platforms (e.g. website publications social media). Engagement Communications & Media Relations: Develop and execute integrated internal and external engagement strategies ensuring clear communication with stakeholders within and beyond the College of Science (students faculty alumni donors and corporate partners). Partner with the Assistant Director of Academic Program Marketing and MME Media Relations team to ensure that media relations and strategic communications are consistent with Universitywide efforts. Lead alumni donor and corporate communications in partnership with the College of Sciences Director of Development to support fundraising and engagement efforts ensuring alignment with academic marketing initiatives. Digital & Web Presence: Oversee the College of Sciences website ensuring content reflects the Colleges scope and mission while supporting Universitywide objectives. Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Academic Program Marketing to ensure digital strategies align with broader academic marketing goals. Supervise content creators and ensure digital strategies are implemented consistently across platforms. Events Management: Lead the planning and of College of Science events ensuring they align with the strategic priorities of both the College and broader University marketing goals. Supervise the Events & Alumni Coordinator ensuring that College events enhance engagement with students alumni faculty and other stakeholders and that they are consistent with broader academic program marketing efforts. Budget & Resource Management: Manage the marketing and communications budget for the College of Science ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support strategic objectives while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Ensure that budgetary decisions align with the broader goals set by the Assistant Director of Academic Program Marketing and MME . Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in marketing Communications or a related field. A minimum of four 4 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies. Exceptional communication and relationshipbuilding skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools and marketing analytics. Solid leadership and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with higher education government nonprofit industry and its trends is advantageous.
Work Schedule
MondayFriday; 8:00am5:00pm This position follows a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote.
