This temporary position is for a period up to January 2026. Preference will be given to candidates who are current CUPE 12.1 union members.
Job description
The Facility Operator is responsible for coordinating maintenance/repairs of the area arenas beaches community halls outdoor pools parks sports fields etc.

Because of the responsibilities this position requires the successful candidate to have a valid class G (or higher) Ontario drivers licence; a drivers abstract will be conducted by the Municipality of ChathamKent. An acceptable drivers abstract will: be an original document and current (within the previous thirty 30 days); have no more than four 4 demerit points; have no more than two 2 convictions for the same offence; have no criminal code convictions; have no nonmedical or administrative license suspension in the preceding three 3 years.
Background check requirements
The successful candidate will be required to furnish an original Police Information Search (criminal reference check) (working with vulnerable persons) prior to commencement of employment.

Benefits
This temporary fulltime position will receive an hourly wage of $23.65 to $29.56 and will receive vacation and statutory benefits in accordance with Employment Standards Act.
