Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Building Services Design: Specialize in HVAC and Fire Protection.
- Experience with Wet Services would be a strong advantage.
- Responsible Mechanical Engineer: Take ownership of designs and sign off as required.
- Project Leadership: Plan manage and control projects effectively.
- Bid & Tender Preparation: Lead the submission process to secure projects.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to GIBBs QMS and industry standards.
- Mentorship & Training: Support the development of junior engineers and technologists.
- Client Engagement: Build strong client relationships and maintain professional communication.
- Project Management: Oversee and delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- BEng (Mech) BSc Eng (Mech) or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.TechEng) is required
- Minimum 710 years postgraduate experience in mechanical building services
- Proven expertise in HVAC (VRF Chilled Water Hot Water Air Handling)
- Experience in Fire Protection & Sprinklers
- Knowledge of Plumbing & Drainage (beneficial)
- Familiarity with SANS National Building Regulations & construction monitoring
- Experience with infrastructure projects (advantageous)
Software Proficiency:
- REVIT & AutoCAD (CAD software for mechanical design)
- MS Office Suite
- Carrier HAP & LoadEst (HVAC design tools)
