Job Description
Position Summary
Delivery Specialists are responsible for assisting current crews with local deliveries and/or delivering locally on own. Maintaining contact with the warehouse & restaurant staff to receive delivery and/or pickup instructions and other general warehouse duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Picking up and delivering at set locations daily
- Calling and preparing run
- Loading unloading and operating a 1725 truck/van
- Maintaining safe operation and clean appearance by complying with company operational policies procedures and standards
- Operating and maintaining vehicle in safe and clean condition
- Receiving materials from suppliers and delivering to proper location
- Loading and unloading trucks using a fork truck
- Making deliveries and pickingup locally; packaging may require crate construction using pneumatic nail gun and saw
- Interfacing with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely deliveries including pulling orders receiving and putting away product
- May assist with inventory control
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Attention to detail to ensure all items are accounted for while loading in transit and upon delivery
About You
- Maintaining good a driving record
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Some distribution supply experience preferred.
- Excellent Communication Skills and Customer Service Oriented.
- Customer Focus Dependability Teamwork Coordination Organization Time Management Reporting Skills Inventory Control Documentation Skills Equipment Maintenance
- Some computer skills preferred. Data Entry Skills a plus
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workflow on a daily basis to accomplish required tasks
- Ability to work varied hours/days and to start shift at early hours (including holidays)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position the employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Also includes working outdoors in elements/weather.
