Clyde & Co seeks an attorney with at least 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation to join our thriving insurance coverage litigation group in Chicago. This practice represents domestic and international insurers in complex high value high profile coverage litigation and bad faith cases providing primary excess and reinsurance coverage to municipalities school districts churches and other public and private entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney who is able to work within a busy and fastpaced team environment.

Responsibilities and requirements

  • Analyze insurance policies draft coverage opinions and provide coverage advice and recommendations for clients;
  • Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis and draft memoranda;
  • Draft and review pleadings memos briefs discovery motions with supporting briefs and other legal correspondence;
  • Attending depositions hearings and mediations as required.

Education and Experience required

  • Admitted to practice in Illinois;
  • Excellent academic credentials;
  • 2 to 6 years of complex insurance coverage litigation experience bankruptcy experience is a real plus;
  • Excellent legal research writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

The salary range for this position is $165000$185000 annually. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
