In close collaboration with colleagues from Site Services Energy Engineering we aim to explore opportunities for carbon capture at our wood chip heat plant in Kaiseraugst. Our objective is to assess how the capturing can be accomplished and whether the captured carbon dioxide can be utilized or sequestered. This should be accompanied by an ecological balance analysis. One potential approach includes initially developing a utilization solution and subsequently expanding the project towards sequestration. This project is particularly compelling as it addresses biogenic carbon dioxide. If utilized the resulting products will be netzero. Conversely if the biogenic carbon dioxide is sequestered we will achieve negative emissions. If successful this initiative could potentially serve as a blueprint for other combustion plants at Roche at a later date.
This internship is based in Basel (permanent office workplace) and may require occasional presence in Kaiseraugst. Physical presence is required.
