Background/About us:
The Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government and is at the forefront of supporting students working closely with the wider education sector to ensure all students receive the support and funding they are entitled to.
The Agency provides information advice support and funding to eligible Scottish domiciled students studying courses of Higher Education in the UK. More information can be found at www.saas

Responsibilities
About the role:
As a NEBM you will:
- Shape the future of direction of SAAS by offering independent highlevel advice.
- Utilise your experience in governance transformation and public sector accountability.
- Ensure that SAAS continues to deliver on its strategic objectives with sound decision making.
- Receive training and support to enhance your contributions at board level.

Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Support the delivery of SAASs strategic direction and scrutinise its performance.
- Bring proven experience from senior leadership or board roles in either the public or private sectors.
- Demonstrate an understanding of government operations and accountability structures.
- Possess strong influencing negotiation and analytical skills.
- Approximately 10 days per year (a mix of inperson and online meetings).
- Remuneration is 208.12 per day / 104.06 per halfday. Note that this role is not pensionable.
- Threeyear term with potential for reappointment.
