Reporting to the Principal Investigator the parttime grant supported Grade Enhancement Mentor (GEM)/tutor position is responsible for providing workshops small groups and individual instruction and working closely with the Department of Human and Life Sciences faculty to promote appropriate academic support. The Mathematics GEM must be able to provide support for students in all Mathematics courses.

Physical Demands
An individual in this position will be exposed to a typical office or small classroom environment on a college campus. Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day and climb stairs as required. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally) bending and carrying. Specific vision abilities include the ability to use close vision. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
