Pay: $24.00 per hour

Schedule:FullTime Monday Friday 8hour shifts

We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an atrisk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy productive life.

Essential Duties:

  1. Knowledge of alcoholism chemical dependency addiction codependency and related disorders.
  2. Designs and implements complex programs treatment and discharge plans for offenders; and conducts intensive or comprehensive interventions.
  3. Assume independent clinical responsibility for all offenders including the application of crisis intervention techniques to include suicide prevention recognizing abnormal behavior and taking appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.
  4. Collaborates with supervisor or other psychiatric social work or medical professionals on specific case related issues to maintain continuity of care and to aid in achieving therapeutic and restorative goals for offenders through individual and group counseling.
  5. Conduct evaluation tests for offenders to determine needs establish goals and develop plans; make referrals to contract professionals for assessment and treatment of offenders.
  6. Provide recommendations regarding discharge plans; make case presentations; and assist program director and treatment team.
  7. Maintain and monitor confidentiality of offenders and review status of offenders.
  8. Attend scheduled staff meetings; promote communication and the proper flow of relevant information between administration staff and offenders.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Bachelors degree from acollege oruniversity accredited by an organization recognized by theCouncil forHigher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by theUnited States Departmentof Education (USDE).Major course work in Criminal Justice Behavioral Science or arelated field preferred.Each year ofexperience as described below more thantherequired four 4 may be substituted for thirty 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university onayearforyear basis.
  • Four 4 years fulltime wageearning experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Texas Commission of Professional Counselors or current licensure as a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) by the Texas Board of Psychological Examiners.
  • Therapeutic community environment experience preferred. Must hold a current CPR certification and maintain a valid license for continued employment.
  • Valid drivers license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record unless waived by management.
  • Must successfully complete a TDCJ approved Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) annual inservice training requirements and annual background check.
