Job Description
What success looks like in this role:
Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Functional Tester to support our biometric integration program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating biometric device integrations ensuring compliance with functional requirements and supporting end-to-end testing of identity management workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute functional and system test cases for biometric modules including facial fingerprint and iris recognition.
- Validate integration of biometric devices with enrolment verification and identification workflows
- Conduct interface validation testing for third-party systems such as Biometric Engines SDKs and internal APIs
- Perform offline and network resilience testing to ensure message queuing and retry mechanisms function correctly
- Document test results log defects and track resolution in coordination with development teams.
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Support configuration testing for biometric exemptions validation rules and device plug-ins
- Participate in defect triage meetings and provide input on severity and impact assessments
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in functional/system testing preferably in biometric or identity management systems.
- Strong understanding of test planning test case design and defect lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with biometric devices and middleware integration is a plus
- Familiarity with JSON-based validation REST APIs and device configuration frameworks.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
BA/BS degree and 4-6 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with biometric integration platforms.
- Exposure to standards for biometric data quality and compliance
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA Zephyr.
