Job Description
If you are a Finance professional with expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing Emerson Professional Tools has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in ourElyria OHlocation theCost Accounting Managerwill be responsible for cost accounting functions includingstandard cost management variance analysis inventory valuation and financial reporting for US locations. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate costing and providing financial insights to improve operational efficiencies.

In this Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Maintain andrevalue standard coststo reflect accurate labor materials and overhead rates. Own theannual cost roll processand cost revaluation efforts.
- Analyze and report onmanufacturing cost variances(labor material and overhead). Investigate root causes and provide recommendations to management for cost containment opportunities.
- Ensureaccurate inventory valuationby preparing booktoperpetual reconciliations. Coordinate excess and obsolete inventory process.
- Improve cost tracking and reporting capabilities within JD Edwards (JDE) and suggest system improvements.
- Assist with monthend close tasks including but not limited to making journal entries and performing reconciliations
You transform financial information into business intelligence through analysis and integration of quantitative and qualitative information. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are outstanding at spotting and seizing opportunities. You focus efforts on continuous improvement; and have a knack for identifying and seizing opportunities for synergy and integration. You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse collaborators.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- 7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to comfortably communicate financial information to senior levels in the organization.
- Strong business insight critical thinking and analytical/technical skills
- Selfconfidence ability to present position in difficult situations
- Solid understanding ofstandard costing cost variance analysis and inventory accounting
- Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
- CPA of CMA certification preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience
- JDE experience
