Key Services Offered:
Compliance Reviews:
Conduct thorough reviews of grantrelated policies procedures and financial records to ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations.
Internal Control Evaluations:
Assess and improve internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure the efficient and effective use of grant funds.
Audit Preparation:
Prepare organizations for grant audits by ensuring proper documentation recordkeeping and adherence to audit guidelines.
Grant Management Support:
Provide guidance and support throughout the grant lifecycle from application to closeout including grant accounting reporting and monitoring.
Training and Education:
Offer training on grant compliance requirements best practices and audit procedures to enhance organizational capacity.
Single Audit Expertise:
Assist with single audits(also known as Uniform Guidance audits)required for organizations receiving federal funding.
Grant Expenditure Allowability Evaluations:
Evaluate the allowability of grant expenditures to ensure they comply with grant regulations and maximize reimbursement.
Procurement Process Reviews:
Review grantspecific procurement processes to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Subrecipient Monitoring:
Provide guidance and support for monitoring subrecipients to ensure their compliance with grant requirements.
Risk Mitigation:
Help organizations identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with grantfunded projects.
The Grant Audit Consultant must:
Have a minimum of three 3 years of grant (financial and compliance) audit experience.
Meet Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) requirements for continuing professional education (CPE).
Note: Each auditor performing work under GAGAS should complete at least 80 hours of CPE that directly enhance the auditors professional proficiency to perform audits or attestation engagements every two 2 years. At least 24 of the 80 hours of CPE should be in subjects directly related to government auditing the government environment or the specific or unique environment in which the audited entity operates. At least 20 hours of the 80 should be completed in any one 1 year of the two 2)year period.
Knowledge and use of TeamMate audit management software is required.
