Were on the lookout for passionate Therapeutic Youth Workers ready to step up as casualTherapeutic Livein Carers across Western Australia. This exciting role takes you to different parts of the state filling in for regular carers while creating meaningful connections with the young people you support. You can be based anywhere but were especially interested in candidates located in Perth the Great Southern Pilbara and the Kimberley regions.
Why do we need shortterm Therapeutic Livein Carers
- To cover planned or unplanned leave for regular carers
- To support new young people entering care or highdemand placements
- When a young person requires medical trips or hospital care
- When a young person needs a circuit breaker a returntocountry trip or a holiday
What Youll Do
Every day brings something new! As a Therapeutic Livein Carer youll take on responsibilities that range from managing household duties to providing emotional and developmental support. Heres what your daytoday could look like:
- Manage daily household tasks like cooking cleaning and laundry
- Create a safe and nurturing environment where young people can flourish
- Support the childs Individual Care Plan which focuses on their health education relationships and emotional wellbeing
- Encourage cultural or religious connections including returntocountry trips
- Work closely with schools to ensure educational engagement
- Join in recreational activities like fishing crafts and outdoor adventures!
What Were Looking For
To shine in this role youll need:
- Comfortable with travelling to West Kimberley East Kimberley Pilbara Wheatbelt PerthandGreat Southern(flights covered!
- Experience working with young people particularly in therapeutic environments
- Willingness to work a weekon weekoff roster with sleepover shifts
- A valid drivers license and resilience to handle the unique challenges of the job
- Relevant qualifications or experience in child and youth care
- A positive empathetic attitude and passion for making a difference
