Summary:

Vighter is seeking several Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists to provide patient care support at the George E. Whalen Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Salt Lake City Utah. Computed Tomography CT) Technologists are responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients to ensure that the quality of the studies adhere to established standards. The CT Tech will perform other functions as determined by the Supervisor in expediting the care of the patient.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for providing all regularly performed CT Radiology procedures at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City UT.
  • Responsible for providing care across the range of Radiology Technologist services as would be provided in a stateoftheart civilian medical treatment facility. The standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards.
  • Critiques images for quality and notifies the Radiologist and/or CT Supervisor of significant exams requiring immediate attention while the patient is undergoing examination.
  • Ensures all documentation required for the completion of the exam is complete in data entry systems.
  • Uses judgment and initiative relying on established protocols and past practice when a difficult decision must be made.
  • Must be able to perform common exams listed below:
    • Head & Neck
    • Chest
    • Abdomen & Pelvis
    • Extremities
    • Spleen Aorta Kidney Bladder
    • Biopsies & Drainages
  • Must adhere to 2025 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) standards /guidelines.
  • Prepares contrast material for fluoroscopic and special procedures under the direction of the Radiologist for the purpose of performing imaging examinations.
  • Must be continuously on the alert to the patients condition and other disorders. Adverse reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so that harm does not come to the patient or equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements including ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced changing environment with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational scheduling and prioritization skills.

Education:

  • Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: RT Certification from ARRT is required and CT Certification is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • License: Have and maintain a valid unrestricted license in any state territory or commonwealth of the U.S and/or certification as required.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with a willingness to adapt and innovate as needed.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.

Duty Hours / Oncall Requirements:

  • Seeking qualified candidates to work nights evenings weekends and holidays.
