General Statement of Job
This position plans initiates executes and evaluates programs for recruitment and admission of students for the local territory schools. This position manages the admissions recruitment plan and provides guidance through a variety of recruitment activities for students seeking admission into the university.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Travels to high schools to meet prospective students parents and/or counselors. (a minimum of 75 visits/fairs per academic year is expected)
Represents Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) at college day and night fairs.
Prepare manage and execute admissions recruitment plan for all prospective freshman students each academic year and present to AVP of Admissions and Enrollment.
Responsible for managing the universitys undergraduate student recruitment efforts in an assigned territory and other areas responsible for overseeing by using CRM and other university software
Helps organize setup and participate in receptions and special events designed to attract new students.
Make contact by telephone email text message and inperson with potential students/families each week throughout the recruitment cycle.
Collaborates with other campus departments and offices with recruiting activities.
Provide a travel schedule budget reports and tracking of recruitment activities to the ACP of Admissions and Enrollment regularly.
Assists with the evaluation of transcripts.
Assists students with academic financial aid and enrollment questions.
Assists the Admissions Office with daily duties related to recruitment and admission of all categories of students.
Serves as the primary contact in the Admissions Office for Green and Gold Tours and collaborates with University Marketing in the planning and implementation of each event.
Responsible for dual credit student matriculation to degreeseeking students in the local territory.
Works collaboratively with all other admissions counselors to establish regularly scheduled team meetings and trainings.
Serves on university committees as designated.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education Experience and Licenses
Bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university required. Masters degree preferred.
Ability to travel extensively is required.
4 years related experience in higher education preferred.
Must have valid Drivers License and ability to meet insurance requirements for driving University vehicles.

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management students faculty staff members of the public and/or Board of Governors.
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to travel including the occasional overnight trip.
Ability to effectively use the Internet as a research tool.
Must have proven excellent public speaking skills.
Requires the ability to use computers for data entry.
Requires the ability to make recommendations that impact the budget.
Requires the ability to use social media for recruitment initiatives.
