Voicedriven features have been assisting millions of Alexa customers at home with daytoday capabilities. We are witness to a significant milestone in Alexa wherein these core features are becoming very personal while also bringing family members closer and allowing them to effectively coordinate with one another. The Alexa Calendar org helps family members communicate and coordinate efficiently and delightfully. We are working to fundamentally innovate on Alexas personal features to make them much smarter via an AI that powers the Family Assistant. As a Software Development Engineer for Alexa Calendar you will be responsible for influencing and shaping the direction of our services as well as mentor junior members of the team. You will define plan and execute on deliverables that drive game changing improvements for customers. Alexa Calendar operates at large scale and is highly available so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.
Key job responsibilities
Key contributor to the architectural shape and direction for the next evolution of the product.
Collaborate with product management UX and crossfunctional teams to define and deliver endtoend customer experiences that are intelligent and personalized.
Display a passion and discipline around operational excellence by incorporating and training on best practices.
Mentor junior members of the team.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114800/year up to $191800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
