The Role
Martinus is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant/Finance Manager to join our team in our Frenchs Forest office. This role will effectively support the endtoend tax function along with consolidation audit process compliance and other aspects of the corporate accounting function. You will also manage the accuracy and quality of financial and qualitative data in the business through rigorous accounting processes and ensure reporting and analysis are performed promptly.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
Preparation of 3way financial statements including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements (monthly halfyear and fullyear)
Assist the Financial Controller with group financial reporting including consolidations eliminations and currency valuations ensuring compliance with AASB standards.
Help prepare annual statutory financial statements including account schedules notes and disclosures.
Review ABS reporting prepared by the team before submission
Driving monthend quarterend halfyear and yearend closing processes as per Group timetable; Managing monthend quarterend and yearend closing processes according to the Groups schedule. Perform critical balance sheet reconciliation on behalf of the financial controller
Overseeing the monthly and quarterly reconciliation of GL accounts as per timetable and policy and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies for presentation to the financial controller
Oversea technical review of all journals (project or otherwise) before and after posting
Manage monthly indirect tax compliance as required. This includes GST PAYG Workcover and Payroll Tax initiatives
Managing annual FBT process as well as implementing best practice tracking throughout the year.
Managing annual Income Tax Return (ITR) process.
On Project supporting Project Finance Managers in resolving technical posting recharges and other allocation queries that may arise
Active involvement with budget and forecasting initiatives as required
Experience/Qualifications
Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting or Commerce with external audit experience.
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
Big 4 training highly desirable
Lives in the Upper North Shore or Northern Beaches making them conveniently located near the Frenchs Forest office and key team members
Experience leading financial and reporting teams including managing GL reconciliations and BAS lodgements
At least 8 years of work experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting including supervising functional teams
