Job Description
Summary of Position
Our collegial generalist group works closely with our specialist divisions to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Our faculty share in their steadfast commitment to addressing the systemic social and health disparities in our community through direct patient care community engagement quality improvement advocacy and grant funding. We encourage applicants who share our dedication to providing compassionate care and improving health equity in our vulnerable population. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Temple University Hospital (TUH) is an 879bed tertiary and quaternarylevel acute care hospital. TUHMain is in the same campus as the School of Medicine. TUH is a high volume urban medical center with over 338000 outpatient visits and over 2000 births annually. The Department of Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences employs approximately 30 MDs or MD/PhDs plus supporting administrative nursing and research staff. There are five clinical divisions including General Obstetrics and Gynecology Maternal Fetal Medicine Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecologic Oncology. The department supports 25 residents.
Temples steadfast dedication to the comprehensive care of womens health throughout their reproductive journey is made evident by the development of the new TUH Women & Families campus located just 3 miles from the main hospital. This facility will include 13 labor and delivery rooms thirtysix private postpartum rooms and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit with 41 bassinettes as well as six operating rooms and an intensive care unit. There will be a fetal testing center and 50 examining rooms in the outpatient area where breast health bone health behavioral health primary and specialty care will be provided in addition to Ob/Gyn. Diagnostic and interventional radiology pharmacy blood bank and laboratory services will be provided on site.
Candidate Qualifications
- MD DO or Foreign Equivalent
- Board certified or active candidate in OB/Gyn required
- Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or above
- Eligibility to receive an unrestricted medical license and DEA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment
- Must possess outstanding clinical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other health care providers and support staff
