THE POSITION

We are seeking an enthusiastic selfmotivated person to join our team as a Corrections Food Service Instructor at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mercer. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor you will function as a lead worker over inmates by assigning participating in and reviewing routine and specialized tasks in the areas of prepreparation production service and baking at SCI Mercer. You can expect to instruct inmates in food preparation and production tasks through onthejob vocational training. Your duties will include reviewing census and menu data adjusting recipes accordingly and recycling leftover food into usable food products to reduce waste. You can expect to inspect food service areas equipment and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. Additionally you will review inmate work assignments conduct performance evaluations and enforce custody and security regulations to ensure proper control over inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 40 hours per week
- Work hours will be 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Work schedule and days off will be determined during the hiring process.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in food preparation production or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation food catering service restaurant or in a similar largescale food production operation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
