Senior Commercial Manager

The Team:

North America Commercial Team


Responsibilities and Impact:

This role is a key member of S&P Global Commodity Insights (SPGCI) North America commercial team focused on growing and retaining our financials market segment portfolio of customers. The successful candidate will manage relationship with key customers globally and provide solutions that improve customer operations and insights.

The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for creating commercial strategies and driving solution based commercial conversations with key customers in the Americas financials space. This person will drive growth of SPGCI products and services by developing and enhancing relationships with executives and decision makers at key accounts and with the end goal of increasing value and customer satisfaction. The Senior Commercial Manager will also be responsible for creating strategic commercial and gotomarket plans to result in successfully implemented multiyear commercial agreements.

In this role the Senior Commercial Manager will also have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and renew existing clients.
  • Identify and initiate new client relationships within existing accounts.
  • Develop and nurture deep and strong relationships with client organizations addressing their needs and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction (NPS).
  • Develop an exceptional understanding of and stay current on the SPGCI products and functionality and their application to specific clients / personas.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasting and keep an uptodate pipeline contacts and meeting notes in SalesForce CRM system.
  • Stay current on competitor offerings to identify the strengths and vulnerabilities of S&P Global Commodity Insights offerings in comparison.
  • Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of industry requirements market trends and client requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge to have meaningful conversations with clients and prospects.
  • Work with sales specialists other functions and channel partners where required to proactively address customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain territory and account plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary for this position is up to $135K. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.
