Mechanical Engineer

We have multiple openings for mechanical engineers supporting our areas of Front Body Rear Body and Plumbing.

The Engineer Mechanical designs functional reliable and cost effective heavy duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or redesign and development of components into existing and new vehicles.

These roles will be required to be onsite at our Pierce Manfacturing facility in Bradenton FL.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under close supervision perform basic engineering calculations investigations and tasks as assigned according to Pierce Manufacturing as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans designs computation methods and/or reporting.
  • Under close supervision work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers internal and external customers and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance safety and reliability.
  • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts drawings specifications and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts components and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide noncomplex technical assistance for production support.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Review technical documents sales proposals and data.
  • Prepare reports and presentations.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six 6 or more months of related work experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.

  • Experience with a highlevel CAD system. CATIA V5 preferred.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavyvehicle equipment and related systems.
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or firefighting equipment and related systems.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers vendors and internal crossfunctional teams.

Pay Range:

$63500.00 $101700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
