Job Description

Role: Locum Senior Quality Assurance Pharmacy Manager
Banding: 8b/c
Location: London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 Months
Hours: Fulltime
Rate: 40 46 per hour

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Managerwith expertise in pharmacy aseptic services to support a turnaround improvement plan at a Band 8b or Band 8c level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance of pharmacy aseptic units.

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide leadership and delivery of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance services including batch and patientspecific manufacture of readytoadminister products such as systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) highrisk injectables and radiopharmaceuticals. You will oversee the design implementation and maintenance of the Pharmaceutical Quality Systems (PQS) ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and MHRA requirements. You will ensure adherence to PQS through appropriate training and motivation of pharmacy production and QA staff. You will conduct regular internal inspections and report compliance via the Pharmacy Oversight Governance Group. You will identify and mitigate risks associated with medication errors adverse drug events and other qualityrelated issues. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to prioritize system improvements. You will authorize all systems of work and documentation in aseptic units radio pharmacy and other licensed areas. You will maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting of quality metrics. You will work closely with Pharmacy Managers Accountable Pharmacists and Radio pharmacy leads to develop and maintain QA services. You will engage with external customers to ensure high standards of service delivery.

Requirements

  • Education and Qualifications:
    • Relevant Pharmacy qualification.
    • Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
    • Experience in aseptic preparation or chemotherapy screening (verification)
    • Prior NHS experience is desirable.
    • Extensive experience in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance particularly within aseptic units. Familiarity with cGMP MHRA guidelines and the Pharmaceutical Quality Management System.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong knowledge of medicines and their applications.
    • Experience in data analysis or a related field.
