Thisposition will function as the Director of the Water Infrastructure Financing Administration(WIFA) within the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)Business Administration. This positionis an essential part of MDEs leadership team and oversees the allocation ofFederal and State funds to ensure safe drinking water and clean water toprotect the environment in support of MDEs mission to protect and restore theenvironment for the health and wellbeing of all Marylanders.
TheDirector of WIFA is responsible for the overall financial management and theagencys capital budget and thus often engages with MDE senior staff. Theincumbent is responsible for accounting and audited financial statementsfinancial sustainability loan disbursement negotiating loan terms withborrowers as well as reviewing and evaluating loan applications to ensureproject viability and compliance with the state and federal requirements.

Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college oruniversity.
Experience: Five years of seniorlevel experience managing financialoperations for a professional organization to include budgetmanagementbudget analysisand/oroverseeing capitalbudgets. Two years of this experience must include the supervision offinancialstaff.
