Job Description

TEMPORARY SAS SECRETARY

FullTime 35 Hours Per Week) 12 Month Position 1.0 FTE)

Start date: Immediately; Duration: Approximately December 2025

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Successful completion of a related oneyear post secondary secretarial studies program plus a minimum of two years related job experience or equivalent;
  • Strong abilities in a computerized environment utilizing word processing spread sheets student information system internet and email as well as other office equipment;
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fastpaced high school environment with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to function effectively with staff students parents members of the public and others;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent telephone manners;
  • Ability to deal with adolescents in a calm compassionate and professional manner;
  • Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve; and
  • Knowledge of Board policies and procedures related to secondary schools.

Qualifications:

  • Responsible for the daytoday operation of the student information system including input and maintenance of all student records.
  • Responsible for the processing of student marks and production of report cards and timetables.
  • Prepare enrollment reports for both parttime and fulltime students on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of reports in accordance with Ministry and Board requirements.
  • Provide secretarial support to VicePrincipal(s) including reports and correspondence.
  • Organize and prepare school schedules including exams and daily teacher supervision; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the VicePrincipal(s)/Principal.

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board offers a Christcentered education to over 13000 students from Brant Haldimand and Norfolk counties the City of Brantford Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The district has approximately 2100 full and parttime staff committed to supporting Belonging Teaching and Learning and Wellness for all. We currently have 28 elementary schools 3 secondary schools and a multisite Alternative Education school and 3 administrative offices. We are unique in that we belong to three Dioceses: Hamilton London and St. Catharines.
