Who we are looking for
A Director of Software Engineering is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the software development process ensuring the successful delivery of software projects and aligning efforts with business objectives. This role involves overseeing the entire software development lifecycle providing strategic vision technical leadership and managing project timelines and resources. Additionally the Director mentors team leaders drives performance fosters an environment that encourages personal and professional growth. They are also involved in strategic planning resource management process improvement and staying uptodate with the latest technologies.
The Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for a variety of technical functions. The position requires a highly motivated roll up your sleeves software leader who can get things done in a fastpaced environment spanning the country.
Please note:While the primary location for this role is Los Angeles CA we will also consider applications from the Boston MA and Seattle WA area.

What you bring to the Team
- 12 years of software engineering experience
- 8 years of experience managing engineering managers
- Proficiency with a wide variety of programming languages technical stacks and cloud technologies
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective
- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams and working with distributed teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
