Job Description

Wayfinder Family Services (Wayfinder) formally known as Junior Blind is currently seeking Therapeautic Behavior Services (TBS) Specialists who will be responsible for providing onetoone behavioral interventions to assist clients placed in our ShortTerm Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) in eliminating negative behaviors minimizing impulsivity and promote prosocial functioning.

This is a nonexempt position that reports to the Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS) Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Provides oneonone behavior intervention for clients based on clients treatment plan.

Develops a working knowledge of functional behavioral analysis and assessment behavioral modification techniques crisis intervention and other techniques as required when working with youth with behavioral challenges.

Responds to crisis situations.

Documents client services in accordance with Department of Mental Health (DMH) standards.

Coordinates linkage to appropriate intraagency and community resources.

Collaborates with treatment team to ensure quality client care.

Promotes the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.

Required Education Skills and Experience:

Bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university plus one 1 year of relevant work experience OR

Associates degree with three 3 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge of local regulations state laws and procedures.

Knowledge or experience with DMH paperwork preferred.

Good crisis communication skills.

Skilled in engaging motivating and working with diverse individuals and groups.

Experience working with youth and nonminor dependents (NMDs).

Previous experience working in a residential setting preferred.

Be willing to be flexible and adjust schedule to meet client needs.
