The PreETS Specialist will provide direct classroom instruction and teaching to High School age students with disabilities as documented by an lEP 504 plan or medical diagnosis which makes them potentially eligible for services from Vocational Rehabilitation.
The person selected will also develop and/or utilize transition age curriculum and handson work experience to support youth with disabilities to increase successful transition from school to work or postsecondary education outcomes.
The PreEmployment Transition Services (PreETS) curriculum includes activities/topics guided by the WlOA indicators: Workplace Readiness Training PostSecondary Counseling Work Based Learning Career Exploration and Self Advocacy. Individuals in this position are expected to provide quality services as assigned to eligible participants and conduct outreach to school district personnel students family members state and community stakeholders.
- Provide direct classroom instruction to High School aged students with disabilities.
- Assists in researching and developing curriculum and classroom activities based on the five WIOA indicators.
- Offer feedback on existing curriculum to support redesign and improvement.
- Prepare lesson plans materials and supplies to cater to a diverse student population.
- Develop individualized handson workbased experiences for students.
- Engage students effectively and maintain classroom management.
- Conduct outreach to school partners to promote PreETS services including scheduling and traveling to schools.
- Identify and understand the needs of school districts regarding Special Education Transition and how best to prepare students for integrated employment or postsecondary education.
- Assist school partners to identify recruit and enroll eligible youth for PreETS services and activities.
- Assists in preparation of content and format for courses conferences and other training events.
- Tracks curricula in all steps of development revision production release and promotion.
- Collaborate with agency partners including DRS DRS Counselors and school staff to meet performance and collaboration targets.
- Present program information to individuals agencies and groups.
- Assist in preparation of content and format for courses conferences and training events.
- Maintain confidentiality of student data and provide regular progress updates to leadership.
- Submit and maintain caseload documentation as required.
- Utilize personal vehicle for daily transportation to and from school campuses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
