Job Description

Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) also known as hormone disruptors are synthetic chemicals that disrupt the functioning of our natural hormone system and can lead to many different adverse health effects including reproductive disorders development dysfunction behavioural disorders thyroid problems low birth weight diabetes and obesity asthma and breast and prostate cancers.

But avoiding EDCs is no longer a choice that a person can make. Endocrine disruptors are found everywhere in our daily lives: from bisphenols used in certain plastic bottles to phthalates in toys and flame ants used in sofas. There is an urgency to act and reform the EU regulatory framework on EDCs to protect people and the environment.

Are you our new EDCFree Europe Coordinator
As our new EDCFree Europe Coordinator youll be responsible for the EDCFree Europe secretariat hosted by HEAL and youll coordinate its campaign and advocacy activities. Youll provide effective planning and implementation of the campaigns advocacy activities which includes monitoring and strategic analysis of relevant EU and national policy processes youll lead membership development and stakeholder engagement and youll represent the campaign externally.



Requirements

We need someone who:
is a strategic thinker passionate about creating change
has a good understanding of chemical and pesticide pollution issues especially regarding EDCs
has at least 3 years of experience in a programme management or network coordination role within an NGO setting
