The Team
The Accounts Payable team at BC Wildfire is a dedicated group of 8 Financial Services Clerks based in Kamloops who play a crucial role in supporting our operations. With a range of experience they are welltrained in all tasks and collaborate closely with colleagues across the province. This teams work is essential to ensuring smooth financial operations within BC Wildfire. The team members are known for being friendly flexible and always willing to help each other out especially during busy periods.

The Role
As a Financial Services Clerk at BC Wildfire youll be an essential part of our team handling accounts payable and receivable creating and reviewing financial documents and providing vital administrative support. Your role is key in ensuring vendors are paid on time which helps keep our operations running smoothly and maintains strong business relationships. Youll have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team contributing to important tasks like yearend accounting. While the job can involve managing deadlines youll be supported by a collaborative team dedicated to getting the job done right.


Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an office setting and computerized systems.

Preference statements

  • Training or experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite including Outlook word and excel


Provisos /Willingness statements

  • To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities assignments and corporate structures.
  • To keep current on emerging issues.
  • To take inhouse training and certification as required.
  • To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required.
  • To work extended hours; including weekends and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan.
  • To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required.
  • To participate in ICS positions as assigned.
  • To work under adverse or stressful conditions including smoke extreme heat and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.
This is a temporary opportunity until March 31 2026.This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
