RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC) is a worldrenowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RIMUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
The CHILDBRIGHT Network is an innovative panCanadian research network that aims to improve life outcomes for children with brainbased developmental disabilities and their families. We are headquartered at the McGill University Health Centre Research Institute and work under Canadas Strategy for PatientOriented Research (SPOR) initiative. www.childbright
Reporting to the Senior Manager Marketing and Communications the incumbent will help produce and update engaging communications content to promote CHILDBRIGHTs research to document the impact of our work and to help disseminate it widely to a range of audiences.
General Duties
You will do this by :
Collaborating to brainstorm new communication campaigns and materials proposing creative and impactful ways to showcase the networks progress and activities
Helping to collect the necessary material to produce these outputs (quotes testimonials photos stats etc.
Producing multimedia content including infographics video podcast stories blog posts newsletter features social media campaign material or other outputs based on your unique skillset experience and recommendations
Advising network programs and projects on how to produce tailored communications and marketing strategies to promote their work.
You will also contribute to administrative tasks relating to marketing & communications including:
Updating the networks website
Monitoring social media channels
Monitoring daily press clippings
Monitoring campaign analytics.
As a member of our team you will be given a chance to contribute new ideas and develop innovative materials so if you have experience and an interest in other mediums such as audiovisual podcasts graphic design photography infographics or other let us know. We look forward to your creative input!
Education: Bachelors Degree
Field of Study: communications graphic design video or audio production writing journalism or a healthrelated field or research program.
Work Experience: At least two years experience in a research communications knowledge mobilization or marketing position
Professional Membership: Yes No
Demonstrated ability to produce accessible and impactful science communications outputs (samples of work must be provided)
Exceptional grammar and writing skills in either English or French. Have a functional working knowledge in the other language. As a bilingual network you will produce material in both languages but can opt to produce your written content in the language of your choice (French or English)
Strong knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe suite of products Canva)
Knowledge of video and audio production an asset
Knowledge of SEO and web content writing best practices an asset
Working knowledge of Squarespace Mailchimp and the Microsoft Office suite of products
The ability to plan and organize your work to successfully meet deadlines
Curiosity and interest in learning to work in new digital platforms software and social media platforms
Willingness to be cited as the author of your work publicly
Dedication to your work and a strong desire to learn
Ability to work effectively and courteously with a broad range of individuals and groups including youth families researchers health care providers research trainees community partners and Indigenous groups.
