Job Description
WXIN/WTTV a Nexstar Media Group station has an opening for a fulltime* onsite Maintenance Engineer to work in our Indianapolis location reporting to the Director of Technology.
The Maintenance Engineer will have a strong broadcast news background. The candidate will have a comfort with information technology and a passion for learning new technology in a fastpaced and challenging news operations environment.
*Fulltime of 40 hours per week. Depending on candidate this may be 5 x 8 hours weekly or 4 x 10 hours. Position will require participation in a rotating oncall status
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation and configuration of equipment into equipment racks.
- Follow direct instructions and follow CAD drawings and cable database to install and troubleshoot.
- Repair and return to service cameras video and audio switchers and satellite uplinks.
- Primary first responder for building issues for short term remediation.
- Support news traffic sales and master control operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science preferred; relevant work experience required
- Minimum 13 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer for a broadcast television station
- Intermediate computer & networking skills required
- Must be able to work efficiently under deadlines and time constraints
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights holidays and weekends
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb 20 ladder.
