Position Summary:
Samsung Research America is seeking a passionate and collaborative Mobile Development Engineer to join our Health team in Mountain View CA.
As a Mobile/Wearable Engineer you will be working closely with an experienced collaborative and entrepreneurial team that strives to offer superior digital health products on wearable and mobile devices backed by worldclass research technical and manufacturing capabilities. As a crossdisciplinary healthfocused product development team consisting of research technology design strategy and product functions you have the opportunity contributing to define the next generation of mobile and wearable health product and service experiences. You will be responsible for developing software not only on Mobile but also Wearable devices. You will take the very best concepts through various stages of production coding to prove feasibility of a concept and to complete endtoend functional software services. You will also be expected to help prove concept feasibility and provide input into the architecture of the services we build. Responsibilities:
- Design architecture implement user interfaces and functionalities for digital health software running on mobile and wearable devices
- Write clean and efficient code using IDE tools and frameworks following the best engineering practice
- Integrate with backend services and APIs to retrieve manage and secure data locally
- Monitor profile and optimize application performance for optimal user experience
- Be responsible for unit integration and system level test coverage
- Troubleshoot and analyze systemlevel issues end to end
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams (design research product QA) to define design and develop new products from concept to mass production
- Identify and champion the development of differentiated new technologies and contribute to the product & technology roadmap
Experience Requirements:
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related fieldor equivalent combination of education training and experience
- 3 years of experience in mobile/Wearable (Android/WearOS) software development
- Kotlin development (Android) is a musthave skill
- Proficiency with development on at least two mobile/wearable platforms including Android/WearOS iOS KMP React Native Tizen etc.
- Experience with at least two programming languages including Kotlin Java C/C Swift Object C JavaScript Python
- Strong system development skills (sensors media algorithms threading memory management sync networking power) and solid understanding of asynchronous programming techniques
- Strong foundation in data structure and algorithms
- Experience working with remote data via REST GraphQL and JSON
- Experience with Software toolkit design and implementation
- Experience with relational and nonrelational database
- Strong understanding of physics and mathematics as applied to the development of UI transitions animations image processing etc.
- Handson experience with Android Studio Gradle
- Handson experience with Github Confluence Jira
- Experience with Machine Learning projects with proven results technical familiarity in python and common deep learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow PyTorch)
- Prior development experience using Kotlin MultiPlatform is a big plus
Base Pay Range
$151200 $207750 USD
