Gain valuable teaching experience. Oxford Learning North York at the Lawrence Plazais currently seeking parttime teachertutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.

TeacherTutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class as all lessons are preplanned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

Little ReadersTeacherTutors at Oxford Learning Lawrence Plaza workSaturday mornings(10:00am 2:00pm) as well as opportunities for afterschoolafternoon hours. A commitment until the end of the termin June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better.Your students will love working with you and being reliable is a must.

This role is inperson. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

• Bachelors degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade3 curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade3 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

The Little Readers program is an enriched Saturday morning/afternoon & weekday evening reading program for children aged 3 6 that develops the foundational skills needed to learn and excel.

The Little Readers teachers use proprietary materials to teach students letter names sounds phonics reading comprehension vocabulary writing and fine motor skills.

You will work directly with our younger students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to8 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching inperson
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in postlesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type: Parttime

Salary:$18 $19 / hour

Schedule:

• Saturdays 10am 2pm necessary
• Additional weekday afternoon sessions from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm
