We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist to join our team and drive worldclass research. You will be a key strategic partner to product and design teams driving usercentered design and decisionmaking across the organization. * Independently lead quantfocused UX research projects (survey design implementation statistical analysis etc.
* Triangulate and synthesize survey insights with engagement metrics into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations that drive product improvements and business strategy
* Build mechanisms for regularly communicating insights leveraging strong writing and data visualization skills
* Influence decisionmakers at all levels to act on insights driving customer delight and business objectives
* Drive research goals and research programs across multiple stakeholders and teams managing complex relationships and building consensus when faced with discordant views
* Deliver wellstructured and insightful reports to stakeholders peers and senior leaders contributing to organizational strategic planning efforts
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Research Scientist youll create and own the framework our team will use to link customer behaviors to attitudes identify highimpact problem areas and understand our customers more deeply. You are a thought leader with experience not only running impactful quantitative research but also establishing the frameworks to do so at scale.
Establish systems and frameworks to collect and correlate behavioral and attitudinal data in order to prioritize opportunity areas.
Define and measure UX metrics in collaboration with Designers Qualitative Researchers Engineers and Product Managers.
Influence UX Product Management and Tech teams to prioritize the design improvements that matter most to our customers.
Conduct experiments using large datasets to provide deeper insight into our customers their behaviors and attitudes and the sizing of UX opportunities.
Collaborate with qualitative researchers to connect qualitative research findings to quantitative data.
Prioritize and drive research to improve user experience.
Develop code and statistical models to understand our customers and their behaviors.
Triangulate insights with key topoffunnel metrics (e.g. usage customer engagement) and other datasets to develop regular ways to report on drivers of movement with recommended action items aligned to business goals.
3 years of investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products experience
PhD or Masters degree and 5 years of quantitative field research experience
Experience with big data technologies such as AWS Hadoop Spark Pig Hive etc.
Experience converting research studies into tangible realworld changes
Experience with discrete and continuous optimization methodologies and algorithms

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
