Safety Construction Manager
Job Summary:Our Los Angeles Countybased Construction Company Client is seeking a fulltime Safety Construction Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety training through various means to ensure comprehension and compliance with company customer and regulated standards. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fully supports all IES safety policies procedures programs and federal and state standards.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Provide guidance and support to site supervisors and employees on safetyrelated matters.
- Collaborate with management to develop safety goals and objectives.
- Must have 30 hours of Safety Health and Environmental Training.
- Minimum of two 2 years of supervisory experience; or four 4 years of work experience related to construction.
- Work experience must be a minimum parttime 18 hrs/week) to qualify.
- An associate degree or higher in occupational safety risk management or construction management is preferred.
- Completion of a two 2 year trade or union training program/apprenticeship is also acceptable.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Must possess a minimum of five 5 years experience in construction including two 2 years of safety training preferably in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 Standards.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the Confined Space Entry Standards 1926.1200 Subpart AA).
- Must have current certification as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
