Job Description

Security Managment Office Support
Macdill Air Force Base Tampa FL

The Security Management Office Support assists the United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the command element task area. The positions primary mission involves assisting in directing executive level management and the required command and control actions for commandwide mission . The Security Management Office Support directly aids services for MARCENTs Command Security Management Office including providing direct support in the handling and of security protocols to ensure the efficient of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The Executive Office Administrative Support will perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct support to the Command Security Management Office.
  • Provide personnel with the ability to perform all security tasks.
  • Support the handling marking storage safeguarding and destruction of classified material/information and Controlled Unclassified Information.
  • Verify security clearances initiate visit requests and assist in the of security clearance procedures.
  • Prepare reviews and assessments for government approval.
  • Report to the MARCENT location at MacDill Air Force Base in the event that the security alarm is triggered when the primary Government Security personnel is not available. These services shall be in addition to the core hour support. Historically there have been five oncall/afterhours service calls per year. On average each service call lasted two hours.
  • Follow the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) when performing the duties on this requirement.

EDUCATION

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum ten years of military experience.
  • Experience in a security management role particularly within military or government settings focusing on security protocols and classified information handling.
  • Experience in managing safeguarding and processing classified and controlled unclassified information including knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Prior experience in responding to security alarms and handling emergency situations when primary personnel are unavailable.

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Indepth knowledge of security protocols including the handling marking storage safeguarding and destruction of classified material/information.
  • Strong understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and related security regulations.
  • High level of accuracy in handling sensitive information and performing securityrelated tasks.
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively to security alarms and other emergency situations outside of core hours.
  • Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks related to security clearance procedures document handling and emergency response.
  • Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word Power Point Excel etc. desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.

SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS

  • Travel is required.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid drivers license current automobile insurance and a driving record that is acceptable to the companys auto insurance provider.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

  • A TS / SCI clearance is required for this position.
  • Eligible to gain access to all pertinent security clearance databases (e.g. Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
