Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for a Human Resources Business Partner position in the Human Resources Division.

This Human Resources Business Partner position provides professional consultation and leadership in support of 77 judicial officers and their staff regarding staffing and employment matters. This position is classified as a Human Resources Generalist and participates as a member of the Human Resources leadership team ensuring alignment of priorities. This position supervises two staff members to further the mission of the court and the goals of the Bench.

Business hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Occasional travel within the Twin Cities or Greater Minnesota may be required. The position is fulltime exempt and part of the Human Resources Division located in the Hennepin County Government Center 300 S. 6th Street Minneapolis MN). This position will work onsite and remotely according to business need. Interviews will be conducted virtually.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Lead efforts and provide oversight into staffing for judicial chambers including developing talent sources cultivating relationships with affinity bars law schools and community resources; consulting with judicial officers regarding staffing needs; and identifying appropriate staffing solutions.
  • Consult with judicial officers and their staff regarding performance management and employee relations matters to ensure informed decisions and outcomes.
  • Oversee the delivery of Human Resources services to the Bench and judicial staff such as leaves of absence FMLA ADA and wage/hour compliance to ensure requirements of personnel rules regulations and laws are met.
  • Present Human Resources information to judicial officers and staff in a variety of settings both inperson and virtually. Field questions and facilitate discussions regarding Human Resources initiatives and changes.
  • Assign direct supervise and coordinate the work of two Human Resources Coordinators to ensure priority work is handled promptly and that deadlines are met.
  • Contribute to statewide Human Resources and Development work including strategic efforts and goals.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Six years of posthigh school education and experience including a minimum of two years of experience performing Human Resources work or working in a court or legal setting.
    • Examples include but are not limited to:
      • A Juris Doctor and two years of experience performing Human Resources work or working in a court or legal setting.
      • A fouryear degree and two years of experience performing Human Resources work or working in a court or legal setting.
      • Six years of experience performing Human Resources work or working in a court or legal setting.
  • This position will work onsite and remotely; in order to work remotely access to reliable internet connection is required.

Propose and deliver options for staffing needs

  • Ability to identify trends and propose responses regarding recruitment staffing etc.
  • Ability to learn and apply Human Resources rules policies employment law and best practices in working with the Bench and judicial staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABAaccredited institution.
  • Formal education or training in Human Resources. Experience working in the public sector with elected officials.
  • Experience leading teams or individuals.

SALARY:

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits. The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $34.06 (range minimum)$43.39 (range midpoint) per hour $71117 $90598 annually). The full salary range for this position is $34.06 (range minimum)$52.72 (range maximum) per hour $71117 $110079 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.
