Business Insider is hiringan editorial operations fellow to join the editorial operations team to support our newsroom in its mission to produce influential widelyread journalism

The Role & Team:
As an Editorial Operations Fellow you will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a fastpaced innovative digital newsroom by working with teams across all departments.
The fellow will support the editorial operations team on projects ranging from managing our freelance roster to tracking budgets to coordinating newsroom meetings. The fellow will perform administrative duties to help our global newsroom run smoothly. Were looking for someone who is an excellent communicator extremely organized and enthusiastic about digital journalism.
This role reports directly to the Editorial Operations Manager. The fellow is required to work at least two days per week out of Business Insiders New York City bureau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the editorial operations team to handle freelancer contracts approve invoices and keep our freelance roster up to date
- Assisting with award submissions
- Helping to manage our editorial resources
- Sending newsroom notes and reminders
The ideal candidate has:
- Demonstrable knowledge of processing invoices
- Previous experience with handling contracts
- Is organized a problem solver and fast learner
- Knowledge of Asana Google suites Worksuite
Additionally all of our editorial fellows should have:
- A passion for digital storytelling and voracious reading habits
- Familiarity with digital and social media
- The ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fastpaced team
- Proofreading and copyediting skills
- A love of Business Insider and our mission to serve readers with the information and inspiration they need in a way thats accurate fair fast and fun
Salary & Benefits:
- Fellows are paid $20 per hour (overtime when needed and approved)
- PTO and paid holidays
- Eligible for medical dental and vision benefits on 91st day of employment
