Job Summary/Description:
KALBTV has an immediate opening for a news producer responsible for daily live newscasts. We are looking for a newsroom leader who can multitask and make splitsecond decisions. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator with strong organizational skills and excellent writing ability.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Demonstrating creativity and strong editorial judgment
Developing and organizing newscasts
Writing and editing news scripts for TV & digital platforms
Editing video for TV & digital platforms
Giving direction to reporters and photographers on deadline
Creating graphics for new stories
Coordinating live shots
Communicating with anchors and production staff during live broadcasts
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong communication organization & planning skills
Bachelors Degree in journalism communications or related field preferred
Excellent news judgment broadcast writing & visual storytelling skills
Must have a sense of urgency and be able to thrive in a fastpaced environment
Be able to remain calm and levelheaded during breaking news situations
Previous newsroom experience preferred
Familiarity with ENPS Edius & web posting is a plus
College degree in broadcast journalism broadcast news or related field preferred
