YSS Interns have the opportunity to work with a diverse and committed team while gaining valuable experience serving others and making a difference in the lives of the youth and families we serve. You will work closely with experienced professionals who are ready to provide you with a quality learning experience. To help YSS advance our mission and program you will:
Help supervise clients and report observations
Participate in educational group discussions regarding drug free education and conflict resolution
Act as a positive role model.
Transport clients to activities and appointments.
Tutor clients with school work as needed
Answer telephones and perform general office work
Assist with meal preparation
AttendYSS orientation to cover policies regarding confidentiality drugfree work environment parents clients and child abuse reporting
Attend bimonthly meetings with your supervisor
Complete trainings for Mandatory Reporter and CPR/First Aid.
The time requirement for this internship is a minimum of four 4 hours per week between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:30 pm. It is your responsibility to make sure that your hours meet your academic requirements.

MUST HAVES Required Qualifications
Must be at least 19 years old.
Possesses general understanding of the issues facing atrisk youth and their families.
Must have access to reliable transportation
SHOULD HAVES Preferred Qualifications
All majors are accepted. The following majors are preferred: Criminal Justice Social Work Human Services and related fields.
Possesses excellent observational listening verbal and writing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Proficient with the majority of Microsoft Office applications and basic database use.
Takes initiative seeks out opportunities for learning and effectively manages ones own time and work.
