** THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE MDH FREDERICK COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION ONLY. **

Main Purpose of Job

This is a supervisory level position for the Cigarette Restitution Fund (CRF) Program and Tobacco Sales Compliance Program. This position is responsible for the oversight and overall implementation of the 2 tobacco prevention programs (CRF Tobacco Sales Compliance). Duties include program planning and coordination training leading and supervising program staff and networking with other agencies. Duties also include reviewing program materials grant writing and reporting budget management and the preparation of other documentation as needed by the MDH and/or other funding agencies or departments. This program operates within the Behavioral Health Services Division of the Frederick County Health Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a healthrelated program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the healthrelated field of work on a yearforyear basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience coordinating health related programs with sub vendors delivering tobacco education and/or cessation services.
  • Experience delivering tobacco education to tobacco retailers to improve retailer compliance with local and State laws.
