Job Overview
Podar Education Network is seeking a Fresher Counselor for a fulltime position at our Hubballi location. This role is ideal for candidates with 0 to 1 year of experience who have strong skills in active listening communication and a masters degree in counseling. The position involves guiding students through personal social and academic challenges while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Active Listening (Mandatory skill): Ability to listen attentively and provide thoughtful wellinformed responses.
- Communication (Mandatory skill): Proficient in verbal and written communication to clearly articulate ideas and advice.
- MSC (Mandatory skill): A masters degree in counseling or a related field as a foundational educational requirement.
- Problem Solving: Capability to identify issues and develop effective and realistic solutions for students challenges.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to relate to and interact positively with diverse student backgrounds and personalities.
- Patience: Demonstrated patience in dealing with students varying needs and responses fostering a supportive environment.
- Counseling Techniques: Knowledge of and ability to apply various counseling methodologies and practices effectively.
- Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining clients privacy and confidentiality in line with legal and ethical guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students address personal social and academic issues.
- Develop and implement educational and counseling programs that cater to specific student needs and challenges.
- Assess students needs through counseling sessions and collaborate with teachers and parents to offer insights.
- Maintain detailed records of counseling sessions interventions and progress while ensuring confidentiality.
- Participate in schoolwide initiatives to promote overall wellbeing and mental health among students.
- Stay updated with the latest counseling techniques and implement them in practice to enhance student outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops and seminars on relevant topics like stress management career guidance and social skills.
- Actively assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution within the school setting.
