Job Description
STVs Jacksonville FL locationis seeking aSenior Water/Wastewater Utility Engineerfor our Water Practice Group. Youll provide the ability to contribute immediately to Water and Wastewater (W/WW) project development and of varying sizes as part of a growing office.
As a Senior Engineer youll actively participate in the full project cycle from the design phase through the final construction closeout. In this position you will perform design engineering tasks to lead the Project Team in the and delivery of water and wastewater linear projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production of contract documents including plans specifications and opinions of probable construction costs (OPCCs).
- Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Prepare construction and design cost estimates.
- Perform engineering duties in planning and designing large and small diameter water and wastewater pipelines.
- Responsible for or willingness to learn project management client interface and business development of future projects.
- Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation.
- Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
- Build and oversee staff
Heres What Youll Need:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in water/wastewater projects.
- JEA project experience is a must.
- Horizontal Directional Drill experience is a plus
- Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
- FL PE License is required.
- Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with production tools or modeling and design software is a plus.
