About the role

As an Underwriting Business Analyst you will ensure efficient and effective daytoday underwriting operations within MS Reinsurances governance framework. Reporting to the Head of Underwriting Operations you will be part of the Technical Underwriting Office (TUO) and collaborate closely with global underwriting teams TUO and other functions like Middle Office Finance and IT/data teams.

You will also oversee and improve underwriting systems data and reporting capabilities to meet the performance requirements of the agreed underwriting plans.

Your responsibilities

  • Collect analyze and interpret raw data from various sources

  • Understand all aspects of MS Reinsurances underwriting operations

  • Help maintain the Underwriting Governance Framework including guidelines policies and standards

  • Maintain and evolve the Quality Assurance Framework covering file reviews reference data management system validations and exception reporting

  • Design maintain and evidence effective controls to mitigate risks across the underwriting function

  • Help coordinate the annual business planning process

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of business partner data in the master data management tool

  • Design evidence and communicate enhancements to underwriting processes and workflows.

Your profile

  • Minimum of 3 years of reinsurance experience

  • Fluent in English

  • SICS experience would be an asset

  • Strong understanding of reinsurance contracts and the underwriting function

  • Confident with data analytics

  • Microsoft products including PowerBI

  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities/actions

  • Build and maintain relationships across MS Re

  • Superior written and oral communication skills

  • Dynamic thinker/solutionoriented

  • Lead and support technical projects.
