Class Summary


This is a parttime position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.

Job Description
This Recreation Leader position assists with the operations of a recreation center including but not limited to supervision of program participants center classes programs activities and camps in a variety of areas while assisting the public. The incumbent will assist with program implementation development as well as process class registrations collect fees prepare registration spreadsheets and databases complete room reservations and provide tours. This position will also be responsible for completing the setup and teardown of rooms tables chairs exhibits etc. in the facility and on the grounds for camps classes and special events.

Essential Duties

  • Organizing and maintaining files records of programs and user information
  • Performing daily housekeeping and maintenance duties inside and outside of the facility
  • Providing supervision and organizing the desk/computer area
  • Documenting all first aid accidents and incidents
  • Performing various clerical/receptionist duties such as answering phone calls greeting customers monitoring activities etc.
  • Problem solving skills in interpersonal relations oral and written communications effective customer service techniques and instructing and assisting with supervision of others
  • Creating informational signs as necessary to keep the public informed of current information
  • Developing resources for program/service information
  • Monitoring daily rentals and activities as well as afterhours rentals
  • Assisting in placing phone calls flagging down medical personnel and crowd control during any emergencies
  • Compiling all cash handling procedures
  • Overseeing programs and activities when the Program Supervisor and Program Leader are not available

  • This job will require availability to work a variety of hours

Hourly rate

  • Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Valid drivers license required

These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law.
